• Dr. Stavros Tzortzis was admitted to the University of Ioannina Medical School in 1994 following national exams, graduating in 2000.

• Following his mandatory rural service at the Cardiology Department of Filiates General Hospital and his military obligations, he trained in Internal Medicine for two years. After 18 months of service in the ICU and Cardiology department of the private medical center "Kyanous Stavros" in Athens, he completed his 4-year residency in Cardiology at "NIMTS" Hospital, obtaining his specialization title in 2011.

• He subsequently completed a one-year fellowship in Interventional Cardiology and Pacing at "NIMTS" Hospital.

• Awarded a scholarship by the Hellenic Cardiological Society, he pursued a one-year clinical fellowship at the Hemodynamic Laboratory of the "Bristol Heart Institute" in the United Kingdom, gaining extensive experience in the full spectrum of interventional cardiology procedures. He continued working there as a Cardiology Consultant for an additional 6 months.

• Upon his return to Greece in 2013, he worked as an Interventional Cardiologist at "NIMTS" Hospital for 4 years and subsequently at "Elpis" Hospital for 18 months as a Cardiology Consultant.

• Since 2018, he has been appointed as a Senior Consultant at "Sismanogleio" Hospital, initially serving in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit for 4 years while participating in the Hemodynamic Unit. Since 2023, he has been dedicated to the Hemodynamic Unit of Interventional Cardiology, where he continues to perform a high volume of procedures annually.

• He has also received advanced training in sophisticated echocardiographic techniques (transesophageal echo and stress echo) at "Alexandra" Hospital, in Electrophysiology-Cardiac Pacing at "Evangelismos" Hospital, and in transcatheter valve interventions at the "Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center".

• He possesses extensive experience in coronary angiography (95% via radial artery access) and angioplasty (including complex cases such as chronic total occlusions, calcified lesions, left main disease, and multivessel disease), as well as in the implantation and monitoring of leadless and traditional pacemakers, biventricular systems, defibrillators, and subcutaneous Holter monitors.

• Dr. Tzortzis completed his doctoral thesis at the 2nd University Cardiology Clinic of the NKUA – "Attikon" University Hospital, receiving his PhD from the University of Athens in 2011 with the grade "Excellent."

• He has published 27 papers in international journals and has co-authored chapters in 7 Greek medical books. He has attended numerous Greek and international conferences as a speaker and presenter on topics primarily related to Interventional Cardiology.

• Member of the Hellenic Cardiological Society (HCS) and the European Society of Cardiology (ESC).

• Member of the Working Group on Interventional Cardiology of the HCS and the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI).
